New member MARTIN Harvey's R53 Mini Cooper S is October's car of the Month..."Our special car is a 2005 Mini Cooper S R53 in Chilli Red with white roof and decals and the 6-speed close ratio manual gearbox, which we bought brand new when living in Belgium. It features nearly every available factory option, including the extra instrument package and OEM fog lamps and until recently, it was exclusively serviced by a main dealer.
Even though it is left-hand drive, we personally imported the car by driving it across fully loaded when we returned to the UK in 2023. Since arriving back in the UK we have gone through the car and replaced every filter, fluid, including those designated as lifetime, such as gearbox and power steering as well have the supercharger serviced and many other parts such as water pump, engine mounts replaced.
It has covered just 33,000 miles from new, has always been garaged and with all the recent work expect it to go on for at least another 20 years to make historic status.
It is a much-loved member of our family."
