For July's Car of the Month we have Simon's 1939 Vauxhall 12/4. In Simon's own words:
'In 1992 My father bought home a 1939 Vauxhall 12/4 i type deluxe, the car arrived on the trailer with the doors held on by rope, the interior headlining was all ripped and wires hanging down.
It also had no front wings, bonnet and even glass were all in creates m, to be honest it was a mess.
I was 12 years old when the old girl arrived, I remember painting the radiator fan and to this day wasn't even re painted.
The vauxhall was restored chassis up and even the front axel was carried up flight's of stairs to get new bearings.
There were only 11,000 made before the War as the metal was needed for other things & only a handful left.
It was then sold, so I was trying to find it for 15 years and finally found it again. Many things had to be put right along with making new gaskets etc.'
